When I started my watercolor journey, I wondered how I might bring my experience of being biracial into my art. I speak about it in my music and in my poetry, but was still much a beginner in painting. As I pondered this, I also dove into landscapes, portraits, and galaxies...leading to the idea of natural hair as a world of its own, encompassing the beauty and infinite dimensions as reflected in those of us who possess the gift of natural, unruly, oft embattled curls. And from there I eventually created my Afro Galaxy series! ❤️
I worked with the fabulous Bellevue Fine Art Reproduction company to share with you these Giclée Prints of my work, which are made on Epson Professional Printers with Archival Pigment Inks, and printed on Canson Arches Aquarelle, 100% cotton, PH neutral, 240gsm Watercolor Paper (whew!), which complies with the highest archival standards and is extremely age resistant.
